The Kuressaare Town Race center at the Kuressaare Stadium can only be accessed after passing the COVID-19 infection safety check. To do so, the entrant to the stadium must provide a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, proof of passage or a negative rapid test result. The above requirement applies to all persons involved in the city race - organizers, participants, participants, technical staff, etc. The same requirement also applies to parents when the children's race takes place on 20 August. According to the order of the Government of the Republic, the requirement to submit a certificate does not apply to persons under 18 years of age. 40th Kuressaare Town Race carries on the existing traditions and celebrates the anniversary of Kuressaare by promoting healthy life style. The Town Race is a part of a series of health activities in Kuressaare named MOVING MAKES HEALTHIER. The Town Race is a part of the SELVER EESTI LINNAJOOKSUD (SELVER ESTONIAN TOWN RACES). Kuressaare Town Race is organised by the Saaremaa Sports School in cooperation with different cooperation partners. Time and place The 40th Kuressaare Town Race takes place on Saturday, August 21, 2021. The start and finish areas and the secretariat are located at Kuressaare stadium (Staadioni 6, Kuressaare). The children`s race takes place on Friday, August 20, 2021. 10 km virtual run takes place between 16.08-31.08.2021 Schedule Start schedule: 20.08 Children`s race at 18.00 21.08 10 km running race at 13.00 5 km running race or walking at 13.15 Overall approximate schedule: 20.08 17.00 – 17.55 registration for the childrenś race 18.00 start of children`s races 18.20 scooter raffle among all participants of the children’s races 21.08 10.00 – 12.45 issuing numbers 12.55 warm-up exercises for the 10 km racers 13.00 start for the 10 km running race 13.10 warm-up exercises for the 5 km racers 13.15 start for the 5 km running and walking 15.00 award ceremony in the finish area Distances Distances of the Town Race are 10 km, 5 km and the children’s race 250 m. Distances have to be covered either by running or walking. Main distances:10 km running race and 5 km running race or walking The tracks have mainly the asphalt or hard covering. The children’s race takes place on the stadium. The finish of main distances is closed at 14.30, 21.08.2021. The tracks are marked; options for participation are as follows: Distance 10 km. Time for covering the distance is measured, the participant’s number is blue. On the track 1 drinking points + a drink in the finish. It is not a distance for participants who walk! Distance 5 km. Time for covering the distance is measured, the participant’s number is yellow. Distance may be covered by running or walking. A drink in the finish. Distance 250m for children. Running race without measuring the time. All participants get a number 1. Registration 01.02.2021 - 30.04.2021 pre-registration for running races on the homepage of Selver Eesti Linna-jooksud: www.jooks.ee/linnajooksud. Participation in at least three events of the series is required. 01.04. – 18.08.202 pre-registration for all distances of the Town Race available in the internet: www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee Numbers available for the registered participants in the Sports Centre 13.08. – 19.08. from 10.00 till 21.00 and in the secretariat on the racing day. 16.08. – 18.08.2021 pre-registration for all distances of the Town Race in Kuressaare Sports Centre from 10.00 till 21.00. On the racing day numbers are available in the secretariat of the Town Race 21.08. from 10.00 - 12.00, for the children’s race 20.08. from 17.00–17.55. The secretariat of the Town Race is located at Kuressaare stadium (Staadioni 6, Kuressaare). Registration is not possible on the day of the competition (except children`s race)! Participation fees Participation fees for all main distances - 10 km running race and 5 km running race and walking. No participation fee for participants born in 2001 and later. Participation fees: 10 km race – 8 EUR 5 km running race and walking – 5 EUR 10 km virual run - 8 EUR No fee for the participants born later than 2002. No fee for the participants in the children’s race. No fee refunded if a participant decides not to take part in the event. All participants of the children’s race receive a diploma, a medal and sweets. Three best in each age group taking part in 5 km and 10 km running race get prizes. Three best men and women in 5km and 10 km running race receive a prize. Other special prizes: Most active school (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre); Most active enterprise (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre); Most active sports club (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre); The eldest participant in main distance (5 km or 10 km). The award ceremony of the best runners takes place at about 15.00 in the start and finish area. Every participant, who has finished the race, is issued a diploma with his/her name, the place and the time on it. The diplomas are issued as of August 25 from Kuressaare Sports centre or as an e-diploma in the internet www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee A raffle of a scooter is carried out among all children who took part in the children’s race. A bike raffle is carried out among the participants of all main distances. Other important Every participant of the Town Race is personally responsible for his/her health condition; Medical service is guaranteed in the start and finish area and by the track; The competitor number has to be attached on the chest and it must be seen in the finish; Clothes and bags can be stored in the dressing rooms of the stadium or in a tent where bags can be stored; Washing facilities can be used after the race at the stadium or in Kuressaare Sports Centre. Virtual run 1. The virtual city run will take place between 16.08. - 31.08.2021 2. Age group winners and overall winners will not be announced. 3. You can participate anywhere you want. 4. The distance shall be 10 000 meters, which may be completed in two sections if desired. 5. To participate, you must register, the participation fee is 8 euros. 6. The participant has the opportunity to change the registration for the main distance to participate in the virtual race. 7. The result must be entered on the web address www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee by September 1 at the latest. 8. If desired, all participants can download a registered diploma from the website www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee 10.
