The Town Race is a part of a series of health activities in Kuressaare named MOVING MAKES HEALTHIER. The Town Race is a part of the RIMI EESTI LINNAJOOKSUD (RIMI ESTONIAN TOWN RACES). Kuressaare Town Race is organised by the Saaremaa Sports School in cooperation with different cooperation partners. TIME AND PLACE The 41th Kuressaare Town Race takes place on Saturday, May 07, 2022. The start and finish areas and the secretariat are located at Kuressaare stadium (Staadioni 6, Kuressaare). The children`s race takes place on Friday, May 06, 2022 SCHEDULE Start schedule: 06.05. Children`s race at 18.00 07.05. Sportland 10 km running race at 13.00 5 km running race or walking at 13.15 Overall approximate schedule: 06.05. 17.00 – 17.55 registration for the childrenś race 18.00 start of children`s races 18.20 scooter raffle among all participants of the children’s races 07..05. 10.00 – 12.45 issuing numbers 12.55 warm-up exercises for the 10 km racers 13.00 start for the 10 km running race 13.10 warm-up exercises for the 5 km racers 13.15 start for the 5 km running and walking 15.00 award ceremony in the finish area DISTANCES Distances of the Town Race are 10 km, 5 km and the children’s race 200 m. Distances have to be covered either by running or walking. Main distances:10 km running race and 5 km running race or walking The tracks have mainly the asphalt or hard covering. The children’s race takes place on the stadium. The finish of main distances is closed at 14.30, 07.05.2022. The tracks are marked; options for participation are as follows: Distance 10 km. Time for covering the distance is measured, the participant’s number is blue. On the track 1 drinking points + a drink in the finish. It is not a distance for participants who walk! Distance 5 km. Time for covering the distance is measured, the participant’s number is yellow. Distance may be covered by running or walking. A drink in the finish. Distance 200m for children. Running race without measuring the time. All participants get a number 1. REGISTRATION 15.01. – 04.05.2022 pre-registration for all main distances and children`s race available in the internet: www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee 15.01.2022 - 31.03.2022 pre-registration for running races on the homepage of RIMI Eesti Linnajooksud: www.jooks.ee/linnajooksud. Participation in at least three events of the series is required. 02. – 04.05. from 10.00 till 21.00 pre-registration for all distances of the Town Race in Kuressaare Sports Centre. 02.05. – 06.05. from 10.00 till 21.00 Numbers available for the registered participants in the Sports Centre (children's race numbers will be availabled at the stadium on the day of the competition). 06.05 from 17.00 till 17.55 Children`s race pre-registration and numbers availability in the secretariat of the Town Race. On the racing day numbers are available in the secretariat of the Town Race from 10.00 - 12.45. Registration is not possible on the day of the competition (except children`s race)! PARTICIPATION FEES Participation fees for all main distances - 10 km running race and 5 km running race and walking. No participation fee for participants born in 2003 and later. Participation fees: 15.01. – 31.03.22 Sportland 10 km race – 8 EUR 5 km running race and walking – 5 EUR 01.04. – 04.05.22 Sportland 10 km race – 10 EUR 5 km running race and walking – 7 EUR No fee for the participants in the children’s race. No fee refunded if a participant decides not to take part in the event. If the race is canceled due to the COVID-19 virus, the start fee will be refunded or transferred to the following year! All participants of the children’s race receive a diploma, a medal and special prizes. Three best in each age group taking part in 5 km and 10 km running race get prizes. Three best men and women in 5km and 10 km running race receive a prize. Other special prizes: Most active kindergarten (a Cup and special prize); Most active school (a Cup and special prize); Most active enterprise (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre); Most active sports club (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre); The eldest participant in main distance (5 km or 10 km). The award ceremony of the best runners takes place at about 15.00 in the start and finish area. If desired, a participant in the main distance can download or print a personal diploma from the website of the city race www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee The diploma can be obtained from 12.05. also from Kuressaare Sports Center. A raffle of a scooter is carried out among all children who took part in the children’s race. A electric scooter is carried out among the participants of all main distances. OTHER INFORMATIONS Every participant of the Town Race is personally responsible for his/her health condition; Medical service is guaranteed in the start and finish area and by the track; The number has to be attached on the chest and it must be seen in the finish; Clothes and bags can be stored in the dressing rooms of the stadium or in a tent where bags can be stored; Washing facilities can be used after the race at the stadium or in Kuressaare Sports Centre. VIRTUAL RUNNING OPTION Depending on the spread of the COVID-19 virus, a virtual run may also be run. The virtual race will be decided by the organizers at least 1 month before the actual city race. 1. The virtual city run is possible between 07. - 31.05.2022 2. Age group winners and overall winners will not be announced. 3. You can participate anywhere you want. 4. The distance shall be 10 000 meters, which may be completed in two sections if desired. 5. To participate, you must register, the participation fee is 10 euros. 6. The participant has the opportunity to change the registration for the main distance to participate in the virtual race. 7. The result must be entered on the web address www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee by June 1 at the latest. 8. Instructions for loading the result can be found at https://goandrun.eu/en/results-loading 9. If desired, all participants can download a registered diploma from the website www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee 10. A commemorative medal, backpack, competitor's number and discount coupons of cooperation partners will be issued / sent to the participant.
