Program

The Town Race carries on the existing traditions and celebrates the anniversary of Kuressaare by promoting healthy life style. The Town Race is a part of a series of health activities in Kuressaare named MOVING MAKES HEALTHIER. The Town Race is a part of the RIMI EESTI LINNAJOOKSUD (RIMI ESTONIAN TOWN RACES).

 

1. ORGANISATION

Kuressaare Town Race is organised by the Saaremaa Sports School in cooperation with different cooperation partners.

 

2. TIME AND PLACE

The 42th Kuressaare Town Race takes place on Saturday, May 06, 2023.

The start and finish areas and the secretariat are located at Kuressaare stadium (Staadioni 6, Kuressaare).

 

The children`s race takes place on Friday, May 05, 2023

Sportland 10 km running race at 13.00

5 km running race or walking at 13.15

17.00 – 17.55 registration for the childrenś race

10.00 – 12.45 issuing numbers

12.55    warm-up exercises for the 10 km racers

13.00    start for the 10 km running race

13.10    warm-up exercises for the 5 km racers

13.15    start for the 5 km running and walking

15.00    award ceremony in the finish area

Participation fees for all main distances - 10 km running race and 5 km running race and walking.

 

 

Participation fees:

 

01.12.22 – 31.03.23

10 km race – 10 EUR

5 km running race and walking – 7 EUR

 

01.04. – 03.05.23

10 km race – 14 EUR

5 km running race and walking – 10 EUR

 

No participation fee in the children’s race.

 

No participation fee for participants born in 2004 and later.

 

No fee refunded if a participant decides not to take part in the event.

7. PRIZES

All participants, who take part in the main races of the town race, get a medal.

All participants of the children’s race receive a diploma, a medal and special prizes.

 

Three best in each age group taking part in 5 km and 10 km running race get prizes.

Three best men and women in 5km and 10 km running race receive a prize.

 

Other special prizes:

  • Most active kindergarten (a Cup and special prize);
  • Most active school (a Cup and special prize);
  • Most active enterprise (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre);
  • Most active sports club (a Cup and a 100 EUR voucher of Kuressaare Sports Centre);
  • The eldest participant in main distance (5 km or 10 km).

 

The award ceremony of the best runners takes place at about 15.00 in the start and finish area.

 

If desired, a participant in the main distance can download or print a personal diploma from the website of the city race www.kuressaarelinnajooks.ee

The diploma can be obtained from 11.05. also from Kuressaare Sports Center.

 

A raffle of a scooter is carried out among all children who took part in the children’s race.

A electric scooter is carried out among the participants of all main distances.

 

 

8. OTHER

  • Every participant of the Town Race is personally responsible for his/her health condition;
  • Medical service is guaranteed in the start and finish area and by the track;
  • The number has to be attached on the chest and it must be seen in the finish;
  • Clothes and bags can be stored in the dressing rooms of the stadium or in a tent where bags can be stored;
  • Washing facilities can be used after the race at the stadium or in Kuressaare Sports Centre.
